Changing from LLD Wallet to Oracle Wallet

  • This is the process to change from LLD wallet to the Oracle wallet. This is useful if you have been using the LLD wallet and want to start staking, as staking works much better on the Oracle wallet.

    1. CREATE A BACKUP OF WALLET IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY DONE SO (using wallet, File> backup wallet.dat, save somewhere safe)
    2. Download oracle wallet from http://nexusearth.com (2.0.5)
    3. Download recent database (Oracle). This is a VERY large file

    FOR WINDOWS:

    1. Rename %APPDATA%\Nexus to "Nexus.bak" and create new "Nexus" folder
    2. COPY (do not move) wallet.dat and nexus.conf (if it exists) from Nexus.bak to Nexus folder in %APPDATA%\
    3. Extract the contents of the recent.rar file you downloaded (the database file) into %APPDATA%\Nexus
    4. Extract the new wallet you downloaded (from website, 2.0.5/oracle) to the Desktop (or wherever you want) and start up nexus-qt.exe. This can take up to 20 minutes to finally load. Be patient.
    5. When the wallet finally loads, wait for it to completely sync and get a green check in bottom right corner of window.

FOR LINUX: (Note - you must have unrar installed. sudo apt-get install unrar to get if you don't)

    1. Type mv ~/.Nexus ~/.Nexus.bak to back up current database/wallet files
    2. Create new .Nexus folder by typing mkdir ~/.Nexus
    3. COPY (do not move) wallet.dat and nexus.conf (if it exists) from ~/.Nexus.bak to ~/.Nexus by running these 2 commands:
      cp ~/.Nexus.bak/wallet.dat ~/.Nexus/wallet.dat
      cp ~/.Nexus.bak/nexus.conf ~/.Nexus/nexus.conf
    4. Extract the contents of the recent.rar file you downloaded by using command unrar x -r *savedlocation*/recent.rar ~/.Nexus/ (*savedlocation* is the location where you saved the recent.rar file)
    5. Extract the wallet you downloaded by using the command tar -xvf *savedlocation*/Nexus-Qt-Linux-0_2_0_5.tar.gz -C ~/ (*savedlocation* is the location where you saved the Nexus-Qt-Linux-0_2_0_5.tar.gz file)
    6. Start Nexus wallet by running command ~/Nexus-Qt-Linux-0_2_0_5/nexus-qt (This can take up to 20 minutes to load. Be patient)
    7. When the wallet finally loads, wait for it to completely sync and get a green check in bottom right corner of window.
